My birthday is August 18th and I'm pledging my big day to COPD. This year, I’m asking my friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to the foundation for my birthday. A donation of any size is important to keep the programs needed for our COPD community.
As you know, I was diagnosed with Alpha-1, a genetic form of COPD, in 2003 and joined the staff of the COPD Foundation shortly after retiring from teaching.
I’ve been with the Foundation since it’s inception and currently serve as the Senior Director of Patient and Outreach programs. I’ve been involved in designing programs such as the COPD Information Line, the Caregiver Line, and Coaches Corner. I have seen firsthand the impact programs like these can have on the lives of people affected by COPD.
With this, it is important we raise the funds to build more programs for our community. I ask you to consider making a donation to the COPD Foundation in honor of my birthday this year.
